Important Notes
At noon, check in aboard your Dahabiya. Enjoy lunch on board as we begin sailing north along the Nile. The afternoon offers time to relax, enjoy the scenery, or take advantage of the opportunity to swim or kayak in the Nile (kayaking available upon request with advance notice).
Dinner and overnight on board near Daraw.
After breakfast, explore Daraw Market, learning how to shop Egyptian-style. Visit a camel barn to discover the importance of camels in local trade, followed by a visit to a Nubian town, home to one of the oldest civilizations in the Nile Valley.
Continue sailing to Kom Ombo Temple, uniquely dedicated to Sobek and Horus, and visit the Crocodile Museum with its impressive mummified crocodiles.
In the afternoon, sail to Gebel El Selsela, the ancient sandstone quarry that supplied stone for Luxor’s great temples. Walk among shrines, rock-cut chapels, and inscriptions, including the chapel of Horemheb. Enjoy a special barbecue dinner and overnight on board near Bisaw Island
You have more time to explore Viet Hai fishing village, Da Chong Islet, Cat Ba National Park – Trung Trang Cave, Cua Van area, Ba Trai Dao Beach, Tra Bau area, Van Boi Beach, Ba Ham Lake, and Bright & Dark Cave. Take it easy to directly work with the tour agent on the detail
Breakfast is enjoyed on board or in a local home. Step ashore on Bisaw Island for a leisurely walk through farms and village life. Meet local families, learn how traditional sun bread is baked, and join fishermen on their boats to experience Nile fishing. Freshly caught fish may be served at dinner.
Sail toward Edfu and ride to visit the impressive Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. View Tell Edfu, with remains dating from the Old to New Kingdoms, and if time allows, stroll through the local market.
Dinner and overnight on board near El Hegz Village, where you may visit a local family for a meaningful cross-cultural exchange.
After breakfast, disembark in Esna. Visit the Temple of Khnum, set below street level, and explore the restored Wekalet Al-Geddawi caravanserai and the Ottoman-era Al-Qissariya market, known for traditional crafts and textiles.
Drive approximately one hour to Luxor, with transfer to your hotel or Luxor Airport. Optional tours in Luxor may begin on the same day.
